On the night of the debacle, the Comerain navy arrived at [[Denkirn]] under cover of a moonless night.  Seeing as they were not expected, their admiral, [[Ulyaerin Poivre]], decided that whatever action they took to repel the invaders had to be done before they were spotted.  This meant attacking immediately.  The plan was to light a number of their ships on fire and send them at the enemy.  Most of those chosen were built by the [[Martou Fishing Corporation]], the lowest bidder in their creation.

On the night of the debacle, the Comerain navy arrived at [[Denkirn]] under cover of a moonless night.  Seeing as they were not expected, their admiral, [[Ulyaerin Poivre]], decided that whatever action they took to repel the invaders had to be done before they were spotted.  This meant attacking immediately.  The plan was to light a number of their ships on fire and send them at the enemy.  Most of those chosen were built by the [[Martou Fishing Corporation]], the lowest bidder in their creation.  The designates firebirds were evacuated, doused with oil, and set on a course with the enemy.

The firebirds made their way to the enemy ships, which were anchored to the harbor.  When they made contact, the armada immediately took flame.  However, in the light of the fire, the Comerain could see that the burning sails belonged to the [[Great Armada]], which they had come to assist.  In their rush to help the navy which they were never invited to, they had shattered that very navy.  The enemy that had inspired them to action had already been defeated by the time they arrived.

The Comerain knew that when word got back of what happened, there would be war.  King [[Faldonne Loxelain]] would have to act fast to prevent this.  However, his position as the only power in the area allowed him to force the [[Treaty of Den Hëlgen]] on the island of [[Denkirn]].
