The Maerostr Vai Affair was an incident where the doctor and surgeon Maerostr Vai was allegedly the center of a vampire ring. This led to his being kidnapped by and a mob, and re-kidnapped by mercenaries. After being freed by guards, he died unexpectedly when he tripped and was staked in the heart by a wooden fence.
