Veneradome ah Dei-Aleer is work of cumulative architecture built into and around the Aleer cenote, a few hundred standard paces outside the umbra of Seaulippe. It has been recognized as the traditional habitation of the Eastern Moirue Historical Cultural Enclave.

History

The Aleer cenote was used by the ancient Leeno as communal watering hole during the dry seasons. By the 2nd millenium ZY it was the sacred quarry of the Dei religious sect, the first reference to “Dei-Aleer” being from an early Thahanese observatory probe notation dated to ZY 1459.

In the early 22nd century ZY, as part of the Moirue hegemonization of Greater Seaulippe, the Dei-Aleer was converted into a Veneradome by filling the hollowed out cenote with a subrotunda in the Percalaform style. The subrotunda was molded and detailed over the next thirty-seven years by Moirue artisans until its opening in ZY 2160.

The Veneradome expanded in depth over the ensuing centuries, as the Aleer aquifer dried up. As new plains of the subrotunda were reached, new patterns were added from contemporary trends in interior design. The Veneradome was a living edifice, and every half a century media critics from around the system would hold a congress on Seaulippe to witness and discuss the latest expression of Moirue spiritual values.

With the first wave of Thonist thinkers arriving in Seaulippe, and the ensuing cultural upheaval catalyzed by the Neo-Platinumous Theory of Ideal Form, the Veneradome was abandoned aside from a small Dei monastic order and Moirue architecture fanatics. These groups kept up the maintenance, until the Veneradome was re-purposed for the Jubilique Hedonotory of Consent in ZY 2910.

The Hedonotory was the first occupant of Dei-Aleer develop the upper Veneradome, enclosing the top of the cenote in anti-spacecraft ramparts, in the sumptuous Dazzelle style. During the Pentarchate Succession crisis, these fortifications proved life-saving for the Ruthan rebels who occupied the Veneradome from ZY 3120 to 3156.

At present, there is a restoration effort being discussed for the Veneradome ah Dei-Aleer, although there is hot debate over how conservative that restoration should be - to keep the Hedonotory’s ramparts, or to take it back to the traditional Moirue artistry, or - as is a minor but vocal perspective demand - to recreate the pure Aleer cenote as the Leeno found it.
